Devi Mohan represented Mohanji Foundation at “ACTIVE PEACE – One World, One Humanity” program on “Water for Life” at the Palpung Sherabling Monastic Seat, Dharamshala
On 28 February 2020, Devi Mohan represented Mohanji Foundation as its Global Ambassador at a memorable “ACTIVE PEACE – One World, One Humanity” program on “Water for Life” at the majestic Mount of Excellence, the Palpung Sherabling Monastic Seat at the foothills of Himalayas near Dharamshala, north India. The program was hosted by H.H. The 12th Chamgon Kenting Tai Situpa, the current 12th Tai Situpa from one of the oldest lineages of tulkus (reincarnated lamas) in the Kagyu school of Tibetan Buddhism.
“Water for Life” conference was organized by the Palpung Munishasan Dharma Chakra Sangh, in collaboration with the Living Peace Projects from Netherlands, whose delegation Devi joined for this event, together with Devi’s and Mohanji’s daughter Mila. At this conference, various spiritual and religious leaders and water experts delivered their speeches and prayers.
At this historic event, Devi spoke on behalf of Mohanji Foundation, while Mohanji’s powerful message was conveyed through a video stream recorded specifically for this occasion. Both speeches were well received. Mohanji spoke about the importance of being united so that our resources, water especially, can be optimized and rightfully used. Mohanji stressed how important it is to recognize the importance of water in our lives and the lives of generations to come. He said that “living peace” primarily means living the peace within us. “If we don’t connect with ourselves, we live in a fragmented world. It is importance that we unite for the purpose of peace in every heart. Fresh, good, clean water is a responsibility, more than a right, for every being consuming it”, Mohanji said.
Devi’s speech touched upon the importance of purity of intention and active service of peace in the world, which is the common denominator between Mohanji Foundation and the Active Peace movement led by His Holiness Tai Situ Rinpoche. Devi said that, having had the experience of a refugee herself, she holds all Buddhist people in her heart and stressed the importance of remaining truthful and authentic in the face of all the injustice and obstacles of life.
During this program, His Holiness asked all the delegates to join him in conducting a Water Merging Ceremony with the powerful message of unity in diversity. During this ceremony, the water fetched from the four sacred rivers of Tibet, 3 holy rivers of India, an ancient water body of Greenland, the Mighty Mississippi River of America and the River Rhine of Europe, have been joined together.
Honorable Karma Gelek Yuthok (Minister for Religion and Culture, CTA) was among the honorable guests and participants who joined this wonderful event. Grammy award winning monks of Palpung Sherabling Monastic Seat performed their sacred chants as well and special cultural performance was prepared especially for the delegates who participated in the conference.
May the vision and efforts of His Holiness, Mohanji and all the delegates of the Living Peace Project, as discussed at this memorable conference, create a powerful ripple of peace and purity spreading across the globe for the benefit of all sentient beings.
