Welcome to Mohanji Speaks.
Hello friends, hope you’re doing well.
Today, I would like to talk to you about an interesting question that a 10-year-old boy asked me. This was a few months ago. He asked me a question which is very relevant in the world of management.
I’ll tell you what he asked: “There are numerous animals in the forest. There are lions, tigers, elephants, and so many beings in the water. Still, why is the lion considered as the king? “
Very simple question! The lion is not the fastest animal, not the biggest animal, nor the smartest animal. Then why is the lion the king? There are faster animals, taller animals, bigger animals and smarter animals. But the lion is still the king.
Why is it so?
The answer is attitude. Attitude makes a person a king.
The lion never believes that he’s small and weak, that he’s not tall, that he’s not good or smart. He never believes that. He believes he is the king. What you believe makes you. If you believe that you are the ruler, you are the ruler.
And if your attitude is: “Oh, that man is better than me, or he’s smarter than me, he’s taller than me, or he’s faster than me”, then we will lose confidence. This is exactly what happens when a lion attacks an animal. The animal might be larger than him. But the attitude of a lion is that he’s already won the war. That’s the right attitude.
In life, we have to have that attitude. Not to win over people, but to win over our own minds. Self-confidence: “Yes, we can do it!” And whenever we have that feeling (yes, we can do it), we don’t care about the opponent or about the obstacles on our way. We don’t care about anything. And this should be our attitude.
We can win everything if we have the right attitude. And the right attitude and smarter approach should not be to overpower or conquer people, or capture something. That’s negative. It is to win over our own blocking mind. It should be to win our own inner obstacles or the obstacles that live inside us, not outside.
What’s on the outside are just expressions – we are projecting them outside. And we limit ourselves by being afraid of obstacles: “Oh, I can’t do that, I can’t do this, or this person is better than me, he’s smarter, or he can do it. I cannot.” This is all created by us. Actually, it’s not the truth.
The truth is that you can be everything if you win over yourself. This is very important for anybody. Whatever you are in this world, you should know this. Think about the lion; he is not afraid of anybody; he’s fully confident. And he’s not attacking anybody if he doesn’t want to; he does not just pick up a fight for the sake of fighting. He leaves everybody alone, but at the same time, when he’s hungry, he will hunt. And he will kill, and he will eat. That’s the attitude.
So, unwanted actions can be avoided; unwanted discussions, arguments, those type of things can be avoided. Practice silence in that space. And then do what you have to do at the right time at the right speed with the right attitude. Here, the thing is the attitude – that we have the right attitude. We can change anything, and especially our inner state.
Story of a little girl
A few years ago, In the mid-2000s, towards the end of 2000, there was a small girl around, maybe ten years old, in one of my programs. And after the program was over, she came to me with her mother.
So I asked, “What’s a small girl doing in my program?”
She said, “Mohanji, I heard you are very powerful.”
I said, “How do you know I’m powerful? Who told you?”
Then she said, “Mother told me.”
I said, “Whether I’m powerful or not doesn’t matter. But what do you want from me?”
She said, “Can you transfer my Math teacher from my school? I do not like her.”
I laughed, “If I change the Math teacher, the school will change me from here to heaven. I can’t do that, but I can help you. But you have to do something for me. Promise me that you will participate in all the school programs and win prizes. Participate with a lot of conviction and confidence and win prizes. I’ll support you for that, and I’ll also support you in your mathematics – you will be able to perform in your math classes better. This I will promise you. And I also promise to support you in your programs but you should participate in everything. Don’t just shy away from all things.”
So she said, “Sure, I’ll do that.”
Then she started participating, and then she started achieving great results. A few years later, I met her again, and she told me that she was the head student of the school. And she had won many prizes – she had won elocution competitions, all those things. So here, the attitude shift made the difference from a shy, small girl to a confident, student head. This is the transformation, and just one equation changed here: attitude.
Change your attitude
So if you change your attitude, you can make a great difference in your life. And there you can think about how a lion handles its life. The main thing is to be confident with life, be confident about yourself. Adversities will be there; difficulties will be there, mental blocks will be there, people will be there, opinions will be there, concepts, prejudices, attacks, even crucifixion might be there. But you can rise above everything and shine bright – this you have within you.
So, attitude matters. And the right attitude can create miracles in your life and in the world around you.
Think about it and discuss it, and make a difference in your own life. May you shine bright. Remember, we all are children of brightness. We are not children of darkness, you know. So we have to shine bright as children of brightness, and we have it. And don’t wear clothes of darkness and think you are not good enough. You are good enough. It’s not about your colour, complexion, your beauty or perfection. It’s not about those; it’s about your attitude, at the end of the day. If you have the right attitude, you can shine bright and you will.
Lots of love. This is Mohanji, for you.
