Kali's Rescue
Namita Bhat, MCB USA 2024
With deep reverence, I offer my heartfelt Koti Pranams at the sacred lotus feet of my beloved Father Mohanji, and to all the revered Gurus of this profound tradition.
In the sanctity of Baba’s 11 assurances, one resounding promise echoes: ‘You look at me – I look at you’. This divine promise unfolded before my eyes as a poignant miracle on an auspicious Thursday.
On April 25th, 2024, Thursday afternoon, amidst the serene surroundings of MCB USA Ashram, I found myself singing to the cows. Sadly these were livestock cows from the neighbor’s farms. Among them, a particular cow tagged ‘J’ approached and stood before me, her gaze unwavering filled with pain and fear as if seeking solace. Tears welled in her eyes and rolled down her face. I felt deep empathy for her and began to sing “Be not dismayed whate’er betide, Mohanji’ll take care of you, Beneath His wings of love abide, Mohanji’ll take care of you….”
That evening, while Baba’s Aarti was being performed at the Ashram Temple, a divine moment transpired. Mohanji emerged from his sanctum and beheld a cow – the same cow ‘J’ standing alone and gazing intently from inside the fenced area towards Baba. This stirred His infinitely compassionate heart. Feeling her energy He named her ‘Kali’ and resolved to rescue her. He instructed that the owners be informed of His intention to adopt her, willing to pay whatever price they asked. Efforts ensued to gently and lovingly bring Kali into the sanctuary of the Ashram. Then when she finally came inside the Ashram, she reveled in her newfound freedom and her joy was palpable as she happily frolicked amidst the grasslands stretching before Baba’s temple.
Thus, Kali’s fate, once destined for the slaughterhouse, has now transformed into a life of contentment at the MCB Ashram, under the watchful gaze and loving embrace of Mohanji and Baba. This miracle bears testament to the boundless compassion and grace of our revered Gurus extending beyond all boundaries, and their universal love transcending all barriers of language and species encompassing every living being.
True devotion and heartfelt prayers, offered with sincerity, never go unanswered and are always acknowledged. As Kali gazed upon Baba and Mohanji, they in turn, looked upon her and bestowed upon her the gift of divine life in their beloved Ashram.
You look at me…. I look at you….
Jai Mohanji, Om SaiRam.
