Mohanji Graces 2025 Sumatera Utara Rally in Indonesia: A Blend of Speed, Spirit, and Spiritual Presence
Parapat, North Sumatra | August 8-10, 2025 – Spiritual leader and humanitarian Mohanji was a distinguished guest at the 2025 Sumatera Utara Rally, held August 8–10 near the breathtaking Lake Toba in Indonesia. Part of the FIA Asia Pacific Rally Championship (APRC), the event is regarded as one of Asia’s most challenging motorsport competitions. Mohanji’s presence brought a spiritual depth to the high-speed spectacle.
A Warm Welcome at Lake Toba
Arriving in Parapat on August 7, Mohanji was welcomed by the grandeur of Lake Toba, the world’s largest volcanic lake and a site of great natural and cultural importance. The rally, celebrated for its rugged terrain and dramatic scenery, drew top racing talent from across the Asia-Pacific region.
Flagging Off Team India
On August 8, Mohanji officially flagged off five rally cars representing VMSPORTSFOUNDATION of India, led by veteran promoter Vamcy Merla. Offering his blessings, Mohanji wished the drivers and teams success and safety as they took on the demanding course. He was joined by Vamcy’s dedicated core team, including Lokesh Gowda, Muthu, and Pradeep Urs, whose passion for advancing Indian motorsport was evident throughout.
A Triumphant Rally Weekend
Across the two rally days (August 9–10), Vamcy Merla’s team celebrated eight podium finishes across 12 categories, including :
- 3 First Places
- 3 Second Places
- 2 Third Places
Mohanji Applauds Indian Talent
Mohanji praised the determination and skill of the Indian contingent, highlighting rally icon Gaurav Gill, who overcame early setbacks to dominate all six stages on the final day. He expressed admiration for the precision and courage on display, adding with a smile, “I’ve always loved speed!”
Another, among the standout performances was Nikeetaa Takkale, who triumphed in both the RC4 category and the Ladies Class, symbolizing the growing role of women in Indian motorsport.
Meeting Leaders and Communities
During his visit, Mohanji met prominent figures, including Musa Rajekshah, entrepreneur, politician, and former Vice Governor of North Sumatra. He also spent time with local families of Indian descent, such as Bobby and his children, reflecting the cultural warmth and historic ties between India and Indonesia.
