Mohanji visited the Mohanji Ka Aangan

Bengaluru, (Aryavarth): Mohanji is a globally renowned humanitarian who has dedicated his life to serving the world. Mohanji’s life purpose is to unite the world with the highest values of love, kindness, compassion and selflessness. He says that humanity is the best religion for humans and the best practice is Ahimsa, or non-violence, in thoughts, words and actions. He emphasizes a lifestyle of purity, non-violence, unconditional love and selfless service towards our fellow beings across all species. In Mohanji’s words: *”True wealth comes from what we give to the earth, not from what we take.”*

The Mohanji Ka Aangan is an initiative taken by Ammucare, which was the first charitable organisation founded by Mohanji with his own savings in 2003. The core aims of Ammucare are to provide food, clothing and shelter to the most needy and downtrodden sections of society. The Aangan was founded to provide basic learning facilities to underprivileged children in North Bangalore. The children at the Aangan do not currently have access to formal education. Some of them work in the mornings to lend a hand to the family income, and thus they lose out on different educational opportunities. The Aangan thus operates as an informal school and play area, imparting basic knowledge and creative skills to the children.

Apart from providing basic learning facilities to the underserved children, the Aangan ensures holistic development and extra-curricular learning. Children are encouraged to take up creative activities such as dancing, singing and painting. Programs and competitions are held occasionally to hone and express their talent.

Moreover, awareness sessions on mental and physical health and hygiene are conducted to relay the deep importance of self-care.
