An Evening of Dialogue with Mohanji in New York
Salmagundi Club, New York
Bringing Leaders and Communities Together
Mohanji was welcomed to the historic Salmagundi Club in New York on 4th October 2026 for an evening of meaningful dialogue that brought together community and business leaders, entrepreneurs, diplomats and members of the wider community. Organised by the Federation of Indian Associations at the invitation of Sreepriya and Shreekant Akkapali, the gathering offered an opportunity to reflect on leadership, responsibility, relationships and inner stability in an increasingly complex world.
Ambassador Dr. Vladimir Božović on Mohanji’s Unifying Vision
The evening opened with a warm welcome from Ambassador Dr. Vladimir Božović, Consul General of the Republic of Serbia in New York and President of the Society of Foreign Consuls in New York. Reflecting on his connection with Mohanji, the Ambassador spoke about his ability to bring people together across cultures, nationalities and religious traditions. Drawing a connection with great personalities who had united people in the past, he expressed his conviction in Mohanji’s contribution to building greater unity, stating: “This man will unite us today and in the future.” His words set the tone for an evening centred on understanding, connection and shared human values.
Mohanji on Dharma, Relationships and Equanimity
During the interactive session, Mohanji shared his perspectives on life, describing it as a role play in which circumstances and experiences continue to change. He spoke about dharma, energy, relationships and the importance of maintaining equanimity amid life’s uncertainties. A key message was the difference between reacting and responding. Mohanji explained that impulsive reactions, particularly when emotions run high, can often leave behind regret or guilt. By cultivating awareness and inner stability, individuals can learn to respond to challenging situations with greater clarity and understanding.
Making Time for Oneself
Mohanji also emphasised the importance of spending time in solitude and reconnecting with oneself amid the demands of everyday life. He encouraged everyone to set aside at least 20 minutes each day for quiet reflection and self-awareness. “Spend at least 20 minutes for yourself in solitude every day. Just remembering you exist.”
An Interactive Exchange on Life and Personal Growth
A lively question-and-answer session followed, with participants raising questions on personal transformation, decision-making, relationships, conflict, intuition and maintaining balance through change. The exchange encouraged reflection on how awareness and conscious choices can influence everyday experiences.
A Lasting Message of Conscious Living
The evening concluded with a simple yet meaningful reminder: while circumstances may be beyond our control, the way we respond to them can be consciously cultivated. Sincere gratitude was extended to the Federation of Indian Associations, Sreepriya and Shreekant Akkapali, Ambassador Dr. Vladimir Božović, and all those who participated in making the evening a warm and enriching experience.
