Brahmarishi Mohanji Addresses ‘Nasha Mukt Yuva- Gen Z Against Addiction’ gathering in Bengaluru Calls on youth to make conscious choices and build a healthier, drug-free Bharat
Bengaluru: Brahmarishi Mohanji addressed the ‘Nasha Mukt Yuva – Gen Z Against Addiction’ gathering at RajaRajeswari Medical College & Hospital, Bengaluru, as part of the Viksit Bharat Sankalp Abhiyan, calling upon young people to recognise their inner strength, make conscious choices and contribute towards building a healthier and drug-free India.
The programme was organised by Dishabodh Sustainable Community Development Foundation, led by Sri K.K. Vijayakumar, in collaboration with the Rajiv Gandhi University of Health Sciences (RGUHS), Karnataka, under the leadership of its Vice-Chancellor, Dr. B.C. Bhagawan.
Mohanji emphasises purpose, awareness and compassion
The event commenced with lamp lighting, Brahmarishi Mohanji led the address to the gathering of youth and parents at RajaRajewari Hospitalby highlighting the deeper human dimension of the battle against addiction. He reminded the youth that every life has a purpose and that the choices made today shape not only an individual’s future, but also the future of families and society
Mohanji emphasised that addiction cannot be addressed through judgement alone. Those struggling with addiction need compassion, guidance, awareness and a helping hand to rediscover their strength and move towards a purposeful life.
National leadership calls for a drug-free generation
The programme was inaugurated through a live interaction with Hon’ble Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi and was graced by Hon’ble Governor of Karnataka Shri Thawar Chand Gehlot and Prof. Shiva Nagi Reddy, BNAS, among other dignitaries.
Addressing the nationwide gathering, Prime Minister Modi described the fight against addiction as a movement that concerns not only individuals, but also families, society and the nation. He emphasised that the vision of a Viksit Bharat depends on a young generation that is healthy in body and mind, confident and free from addiction.
The Prime Minister also underlined the importance of extending understanding and support to those battling addiction, giving them an opportunity to rebuild their lives rather than subjecting them to judgement or social isolation.
His message placed individual responsibility alongside collective compassion, encouraging young people to become conscious custodians of their own lives and positive contributors to society.
A nationwide youth movement
The initiative forms part of the Nasha Mukt Bharat Abhiyaan and is set to reach 2,000 locations across India. Ten interactive programmes are being conducted simultaneously, collectively engaging more than 100,000 students in taking a stand against addiction.
The Bengaluru gathering thus became part of a larger national movement seeking to empower India’s youth to say no to substance abuse and embrace health, confidence, responsibility and purpose.
The collective message was clear : a stronger and developed Bharat begins with a healthy, aware and empowered generation.
