Mohanji Calls for Compassion and Responsibility at VIR Peace Awards 2025

Mumbai, September 11, 2025 – Spiritual leader and humanitarian Mohanji, recipient of VIR Award 2024 as a Global Humanitarian, was among the distinguished speakers at the VIR Peace Awards 2025 in Mumbai. Addressing the panel on “Bharat Redefining the Global Peace Order”, he urged a shift from profit-driven pursuits toward greater compassion, sensitivity, and responsibility for humanity and the planet.

Expanding the Perspective Beyond Profit

Mohanji cautioned that unchecked technology and radiation are steadily harming health, oceans, and ecology. He stressed that true progress cannot be measured in profits or competition alone but in the collective sensitivity of a society.
“True wealth of civilization lies in sensitivity,” he said, adding that without compassion, development risks becoming destructive rather than constructive.

A Call for Compassion

Drawing attention to the erosion of empathy, Mohanji highlighted how even children, animals, and the vulnerable are denied basic rights.
“We are killing children, we are separating mothers from babies – cows, calves, pigs, everything. Nobody is given rights now,” he noted.
He emphasized that Bharat must remain a beacon of spiritual values, upholding moksha (liberation) and reminding humanity that freedom begins with responsible conduct in daily life.

Resonance with the Audience

Mohanji’s heartfelt words struck a deep chord with the gathering. Many participants later expressed their appreciation, sharing that his call to place compassion at the heart of civilization resonated strongly with their own hopes for a more humane and sustainable world. His appeal was seen as both timely and urgent in today’s fractured global climate.

Voices of Peace

The panel also featured Padma Vibhushan Dr. Manmohan Sharma, Lt. General Arun Ananthanarayan, Padmashri Dr. Indira Hinduja, Shri Ravi Pandit, and Shri Ravi Iyer, who offered perspectives on how Bharat can contribute to peace through science, security, healthcare, innovation, and civilizational ethos.
