Event Details

Gurulight invites you on a profoundly illuminating journey with Mohanji, walking through the sacred power centres in the City of Joy, Kolkata.
This pilgrimage will give you a unique opportunity to dive into the Shiva-Shakti energy of Tarakeswar and Kalighat-Dakshineswar, accentuated by enlightening satsangs with Mohanji. You will be able to meditate in the birth places of spiritual stalwarts like Ramkrishna Paramhansa, Ma Sarada Devi and few other Ascended Masters.

The significance of these heritage sites is mentioned below.

  • Tarakeswar: This eighteenth century Shiva temple is one of the most revered in Eastern India. Taraknath, the deity, is considered to be an incarnation of Lord Shiva, who is believed to fulfill the wishes of devotees. The architecture of the temple reflects the traditional Bengal style and holds historical value.
  • Kalighat: Kalighat is one of the 51 Shakti Peethas, where it is believed that parts of the goddess Sati’s body fell when Lord Shiva carried her corpse across the world in grief. According to legend, the toes of her right foot fell at Kalighat, making it a highly sacred site for worshippers of Shakti, the divine feminine energy.
  • Dakshineswar: Sri Ramakrishna, one of India’s most revered spiritual figures, served as the priest of the Dakshineswar Kali Temple in the 19th century. Here He was in constant communion with the deity Ma Bhabatarini, the benevolent form of Goddess Kali.
  • Belur Math: Belur Math is where Swami Vivekananda spent his final years. His room has been preserved as a place of reverence, and many devotees visit to pay homage. The Math also houses relics of Sri Ramakrishna, Ma Sarada Devi (the Holy Mother), and Swami Vivekananda, making it a sacred site for spiritual seekers.
  • Udyanbati: Sri Ramakrishna, who was residing at Cossipore Udyanbati in his final days, reportedly blessed his disciples and devotees standing under the “Kalpataru Tree”, granting them spiritual experiences and fulfilling their wishes. According to accounts, when several devotees prostrated before him, he entered into a divine mood and uttered the words, “Be illumined!” in Bengali. This event led to a profound spiritual awakening among those present, and many reported experiencing visions and a deep sense of spiritual fulfillment.
  • Kamarpukur-Joyrambati: Kamarpukur and Jayrambati are two closely linked villages in West Bengal, India, that hold profound significance in the spiritual landscape of Bengal and beyond. These villages are revered as the birthplaces of two of the most important figures in modern Hindu spirituality: Sri Ramakrishna and Ma Sarada Devi, respectively.
